Mountain Light Pictures has signed five new photographers to its list of contributors: Chris Noble, Dennis Coello, Harrison Shull, Linde Waidhofer and Chris Linder.

Not that the question needs to be asked, but why would anyone shoot stock abroad? After all, unless you're taking travel shots that depend on specific locations, what difference does it make if you're shooting in California or in Calcutta?

Danita Delimont Stock Photography, based in Bellevue, Wash., has launched a visual search feature on its web site, danitadelimont.com.

After conducting a standard keyword search, the user can use the visual search tool to browse through the results to find an image that is close to what he or she has in mind. Selecting an icon beneath the image causes the search feature to re-sort the images pulled up by the original keyword search, placing the closest visual matches at the top of the page.

Both traditional keyword search and visual search options are available. The company offers more than 70,000 images online.

Mark Ippolito Named Senior VP of Sales for Seattle's OnRequest Images

Former Getty Images executive Mark Ippolito has been named senior vice president of worldwide sales for OnRequest Images, based in Seattle.

In his new role, Ippolito will be responsible for developing business opportunities. He formerly served as Getty Images' vice president for global major account sales, as vice president of sales and marketing for Photodisc, and as director of sales at Corbis.
